Mary has an encyclopedic memory for names and faces, which means she often has to pretend not to recognize people, even if she can pinpoint exactly what party they met at five years ago. Thanks to Mary’s extensive dance and musical backgrounds, she has a blend of creative and analytical skills that transfer well to entertainment, and also body dysmorphia. In her work, Mary explores blue collar backdrops and characters who are intelligent in nontraditional senses. When Mary isn't writing, she’s playing in multiple adult softball leagues and reflecting on that time in middle school when she did 1100 consecutive jumps on a pogo stick. Everything she does is just an effort to chase that sense of accomplishment again.
